Quaint. Charming. Beautiful. These are all adjectives that can be used to describe many of the world’s villages, which may not always be easy or convenient to get to on your travels, but certainly well worth the effort. With that being said, here’s a look at 16 of the world’s villages that you absolutely need to visit before you die. We doubt you’ll be disappointed.
1. Molokai, Hawaii
Although this is actually an island, it only has a population of about 8,000 – so it’s small enough and there’s not even one traffic light on it. It’s referred to as “the real Hawaii” for its towering sea cliffs, and buildings aren’t allowed to be taller than a coconut tree. To get there, you can take a small puddle jumper or ferry in from Maui.
