This week we visit: Nepal
The year 2015 hasn’t been kind to Nepal and its people. The earthquake that happened in April almost brought the country to its knees and despite the aid pouring in from all corners of the world, the Nepalese are still struggling to get their lives back. That being said, Nepal is still one of the most unreally beautiful places in the world and the country could sure use those tourist dollars.
One of the main reasons to visit Nepal is the Annapurna Region, the world’s premiere trekking region, without a shadow of a doubt. The vistas you will be experiencing regularly in Annapurna will blow your mind, literally. It is unlike anything else in the world, pure beauty. Harsh beauty, but still eye-watering gorgeous.
Nepal is also a very spiritual country, with innumerable temples and monasteries riddling this harsh and beautiful country. Everywhere you look, you will find a centuries old temple where you will finally learn what it means to be one with yourself and the universe.
You will also experience more than 35 cultures in Nepal, all with their different systems of belief, different food, music and mythology. It is truly a unique experience.
Of course, there is also the Kathmandu Valley, the crossroads of ancient civilizations and one of the holiest places on Earth. It boasts innumerable historic sights and temples, many of which are pilgrimages for Buddhists and Hindus from all over the world.
