This week we visit: Madagascar

If you want our honest advice, the best places to eat in Madagascar are small local restaurants and stands where you can get incredible fish that was swimming in the ocean mere hours before. Still, it is not like there aren’t places in Madagascar where you can do some fine dining. So, where can you find them and what should you expect?
If you are looking for classic French cuisine, one of the best places to dine is definitely L’ Auberge in Antananarivo which specializes in meat-based French dishes. The restaurant also offers quite a nice selection of wine at reasonable prices.
For those who prefer European dishes prepared well and not too expensive, the choice is La Brasserie which is located in Hotel de France in Antananarivo also. La Boussole is another dining spot in the capital, located in Rue Dok Villette. While the food is great, the drinks may not be the best in the world, especially when we’re talking cocktails. For Creole cuisine, it is best to head to Rue Raveloary in the trendy Isoraka district where you will find Chez Sucett’s.
On the island of Nosy Be, you will also find some amazing restaurants, such as Le Nandipo, famous for its seafood and Mediterranean dishes. Le Papillon in the center of Hell-Ville is run by an Italian chef who definitely knows what he’s doing. Another place worth checking out on Nosy Be is Au Rendezvous des Pecheurs, offering mouth-watering French country cuisine.
