This week we visit: New Zealand
New Zealand definitely is a long way from pretty much everywhere, but it is a country of such beauty and incredible sights that everyone should visit it at least once in their lives. With its two main islands, the North and the South islands vying for your attention, there is a little bit of everything for everyone in New Zealand.
For instance, there is a relatively small city of Napier which was completely destroyed in an earthquake in 1931, at the time of art deco. The entire city was rebuilt in this unique style of architecture, making it the only such city in the world. It is just unreal.
Then, there is the area around Rotorua, an area famed for its hot springs and geysers that create a landscape so colorful and crazy that you will be rubbing your eyes in disbelief at what nature can create on its own.
There is also the Bay of Islands, a very special area which is riddled with 144 islands, some of which are nothing but rock, some of which have gorgeous sandy beaches, but all of which are just breath-taking. Fishing is also huge in the area and the wildlife is intact.
Tongariro is another location in New Zealand that you have to visit, the oldest national park in the country and one of the most diverse in the world. It features active volcanoes, mountain lakes, untamed forests and desert-like landscapes, all in one place.
Milford Sound is perhaps the most famous tourist destination in all of New Zealand and among the most spectacular places on Earth. It provides visitors with insane landscapes of Alps-like mountains and peaks, sprinkled with incredible waterfalls and all of that against the backdrop of deep blue ocean.
