If you had a year to do nothing but explore the Netherlands, it might be enough. Might. If you are visiting for the first time, it is almost impossible to decide on just a few sights to check out. Today, we will try to help you and give you a brief overview of only the most spectacular places in the Netherlands.

Amsterdam is, to put it simply, one of the most beautiful cities in the world and one could spend months exploring it. The definite high points, however, are the canals that you can experience by boat and the Rijksmuseum, one of the most incredible museums in the world, boasting a spectacular collection of Dutch and world art.

This is the largest flower garden in the world, most famous for its incredible tulips, the national flower of the Netherlands. If you wish to visit the garden, make sure to travel between March and May.

For those who are interested in experiencing the nature of the Netherlands, then the Hoge Veluwe National Park is the place to visit. It boasts woodlands, sand dunes and heathlands, all teaming with wildlife. It also features a rather amazing museum, with a large Van Gogh collection.

Finally, to complete your Dutch experience, you simply have to visit the area around the village of Kinderdijk, which features many old windmills.
