This week we visit: Argentina
Argentinians know how to spend a night out. People who live in Buenos Aires even more so. For them, a night out is a ritual, starting off with dinner that they never eat before 9 p.m. Then, it is time for some drinks in one (or a few) of the city’s innumerable bars and then it’s off to the nightclubs till the early morning hours.
If you want our advice, chomp down on some meat before the night out, preferably steaks which are something of a religion in Argentina. Ask around, find out who has the best steaks that will not be overpriced. Then, it is time to hit the watering holes.
Floreria Atlantico is definitely a bar to check out, especially if you like cocktails. It is co-owned and managed by Tato Giovannoni, the leading cocktail expert in the city. Lo de Roberto offers a more intimate atmosphere, taking you back decades. Café San Bernardo is where you can go for a very local atmosphere, beer and table tennis. Doppelgänger is a retro cocktail bar that does classics very well and where you can really relax.
Once the clock strikes 1 or 2 a.m., it is time for the nightclubs and there are plenty to check out in Buenos Aires. Kika Club is one of the premiere clubs in the city, featuring two dance floor and a ton of people. Liv is a nightclub for the serious clubber who knows how to appreciate an insane sound system. If you are more interested in live bands than dance music, make sure to visit the Nieto Club.
The best thing about a night out in Buenos Aires is that you simply cannot go wrong. Wherever you turn, you will find friendly and beautiful people who only want to have fun.
