Oslo is a spectacular city by any standard, boasting centuries of history, incredible architecture and art scene, as well as all the fantastic restaurants that you would expect from a major Scandinavian city. Still, among all those amazing restaurants, there are some that stand out and we will be talking about them today.

Maaemo is not just one of the most famous restaurants in Oslo, but also in the world. It is a dining experience of the highest order, with 26-course diners that last for hours and that open up an entire new world of pure delight to diners.

Hanami is a superb Japanese restaurant, one of the best in Scandinavia. The restaurant does the Rabata grilling technique, while also offering a wide selection of meticulously prepared sushi and raw fish dishes. Due to Norway’s fishing history and present, the quality of the fish used in preparing the dishes at Hanami is second to none.

Solsiden is a restaurant which is open only from May to September when the waters are unfrozen and fish can get from the net to you plate in matter of minutes. If you are not that crazy for seafood and fish, they do some mean meat dishes as well.

In case you are interested in a purely Scandinavian dining experience, then you can do no wrong with Madu, a restaurant that does traditional Scandinavian food but with a modern twist and a contemporary attention to detail. The name of the game at Madu is raw everything.
