Fiji’s Most Incredible Natural Attractions

In our new Globe Trotter series, Viral Travel reviews all the best places to see, eat, and stay at, in every country of the world!

This week we visit:Fiji

Fiji is a very special place, so far away from pretty much everywhere and so different and beautiful that you feel like you are visiting a whole new planet. It is kind of an ocean planet with only specks of land which consist mostly of beautiful sandy beaches and forests so green it defies reality. But even such a gorgeous country like Fiji has its most beautiful natural attractions and these are a few of them.

For one, there are the Mamanuca Islands that are truly out-of-this-world beautiful. They are a small archipelago of around 20 volcanic islands, all of which feature some of the whitest beaches in the world, coral reefs teaming with life and small traditional villages you can visit.

Then, there is the Sawa-i-Lau, a limestone cave found at the Yasawa islands which are remote even by Fiji’s standards. You need to dive under the rock to get to this cave, but it is more than worth it. It is one of the most special places on the planet, so quiet and so life-changing.

On the islang of Taveuni, you will also find the Boumea National Park, a natural wonder that spans around 60 square miles of natural forest. You will find a number of walking trails in the park, as well as the Tavoro Falls, waterfalls that will make your head spin with their beauty.

Of course, we must not fail to mention the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, a place that is mostly hidden in the shade of the trees and which features the world’s largest collection of orchids. The best thing about it is that it is still half-empty most days, providing you with a very special kind of peace.
