In our new Globe Trotter series, Viral Travel reviews all the best places to see, eat, and stay at, in every country of the world!
This week we visit: Slovenia
Apart from all sorts of bars and clubs, Slovenia offers numerous restaurants, theaters, cinemas and casinos across the country, as well as indoor and outdoor festivals that attract large numbers of tourists from all over the world.
Though there is something for everyone in all the larger cities, party-goers will definitely enjoy themselves the most in Slovenia’s adventurous capital.
First of all, don’t be fooled by the city’s size. With various buzzing bars and nightclubs, Ljubljana’s nightlife is famous in Central and Eastern Europe, and can easily be compared to the nightlife you’ll find in other major European cities.
More importantly, one in ten of Ljubljana’s inhabitants is a student, hence you’re guaranteed to meet lively locals and party all night long. The large student population is also the main reason why Ljubljana is packed with small art galleries, trendy cafes, and other hip venues.
Presernov Trg, Ljubljana’s main square, is the epicenter of the city’s nightlife, with most of the best bars, clubs and cafés nearby.
One of the most popular events that takes place in this vibrant city is the International Summer Festival that is held each year between July and August.
Since there’s so much going on in Ljubljana, the best thing you can do is check Events in Ljubljana, a monthly pamphlet published by the Ljubljana Promotion Centre (available in hotels and tourist offices), and decide which events you should definitely attend during your stay in the capital.
