Croatia is a country with a very diverse cuisine although it is probably most famous for its Mediterranean-style restaurants that offer seafood and local delicacies. You can find amazing food everywhere you go in Croatia, but we wanted to single out a few places that you simply must not miss out on if you find yourself in the area.
Pelegrini is a restaurant located in Šibenik’s Old Town and it is often lauded as the finest restaurant in the country. It is almost impossible to single out the favorites, but their smoked amberjack with broad bean puree and their truffle and prosciutto pappardelle with sheep’s milk cheese are to die for.
Mala Hiža (a small house) is another restaurant in Croatia that is more than worth a visit and it is located in a small town called Mačkovac, near the border with Hungary. The restaurant is famous for its impossibly fresh ingredients and especially mushrooms that are picked locally. It also has an incredible wine list.
If you find yourself in Croatia’s capital Zagreb, make sure to pay a visit to a restaurant called Dubravkin Put. The restaurant found new life under chef Priska Thuring who revolutionized the menu and who has turned this eatery into the capital’s premiere place to dine.
