This week we visit: Estonia
Estonia’s nightlife offers a diverse range of entertainment, the most vibrant places being located in big cities. You’ll find all sorts of nightclubs and pubs in the majority of bigger towns, and some of the most popular places include clubs with live music, traditional pubs and wine bars.
People looking for the busiest nightlife should definitely visit the country’s capital Tallinn that boasts magnificent architecture, historical and cultural attractions, as well as excellent restaurants and world-class entertainment. The scene is also pretty strong in Tartu and Parnu, the latter city being famous for its summer nightlife when pubs and bars close and the party moves straight to the beach. Finally, though you will find bars and clubs in smaller towns, they are usually only open during summer or for just a couple of nights a week – usually for the weekend.
The busiest nightclubs are open from Wednesday to Saturday and their doors are open quite early in the evening, but you should know that the fun starts after midnight. Keeping this in mind, you shouldn’t be surprised to find that most clubs stay open until dawn.
Most nightclubs don’t charge an entry fee before midnight, but there are also discounts for particular nights of the week.
Last but not least, don’t forget to bring your ID with you as alcohol can only be consumed by persons older than 18 (minors are also not allowed inside most nightclubs, the exception being some venues in Viljandi and Valga where the age limit is sixteen).
