The Netherlands is a country where you will find a number of great restaurants and, whether people from Amsterdam want to admit it or not, many of them are actually found in other cities and smaller towns. Today, we will be looking at such restaurants, exquisite dining experiences that you can find outside of the Netherlands’ biggest city.
One such restaurant is De Harmonie in Rotterdam, located in a beautiful inner-city townhouse which boasts a spectacular garden. The restaurant is world-famed for its duck and goose liver and they also make a mean steak tartare.
Another restaurant that true gourmands simply have to visit when in the Netherlands is called Inter Scaldes and it can be found in the small village of Kruiningen. The restaurant does four to eight course menus that change every day and feature dishes such as octopus with lavender, Anjou pigeon and similar mouth-watering delicacies.
If you are more interested in a restaurant that does marvelous seafood, then Pure C in Cadzand is your kind of place. They also offer chef’s menus and put an emphasis on fresh seafood and local vegetables and herbs.
On the Waddenzee Islands, you will find a place called West-Terschelling and there, you will find a restaurant called Caracol which will let you experience all the tastes of the islands, with a Portuguese twist. They source all their ingredients locally and use them for incredible dishes.
