3. The Parisians

The next in our series of our “People In Paris That Will Make You Hate It” rants have to be the Parisians themselves, people who happen to live in this chaos of tourist invasions that happen every single day and will happen every single day for as long as they live in their city.

And really, you cannot really hold it against them if they are a bit nervous and a bit curt with everyone, especially the tourists. Imagine if you walked out of your building every day and run into a river of people who are having the best (or worst) time of their life, just strolling, looking up at the facades and taking photos of literally everything. You are just trying to get to work and you just cannot because a group of Brazilian tourists is taking pics in front of your office building and you are unable to simply get in.

On top of that, the prices of living are so high that they are manifold of those in other French cities and there is nothing you can do about it. You cannot get into the subway because the tourists are there, the cab drivers are all busy with the Americans and the Japanese and your local café is so crowded that you are better off just brewing a cup of coffee at home.

All of that being said, it is not that the Parisians are even trying to be nice or even courteous. They are a mostly miserable bunch if you are not in their very tight circle of friends. Even the French hate the Parisians and once you visit their city, you will understand why this is the case.
